Rights and licence

This page is a plain-English overview of how rights usually work for commissions. Your exact terms are confirmed in writing as part of your licence.

Who owns the music?

Bronchoe Creation CIC retains ownership of the underlying work by default. Your order includes a licence that gives you clear permissions to use your track.

Personal licence (included)

This is for everyday sharing and private use. It is the default for most commissions.

  • Share with friends and family
  • Use at personal events (weddings, birthdays, tributes)
  • Post online for personal, non-monetised sharing
  • Keep the MP3/WAV files and your lyrics booklet (if included)

If you are unsure whether something counts as “personal”, tell us what you plan to do and we will point you to the right wording.

Monetised or commercial use

If you plan to monetise the track (or use it for a brand, product, or paid channel), we provide a written commercial licence and we keep the wording clear and correct.

  • Requires a written commercial licence issued by us
  • Requires visible credit to Bronchoe Creation CIC (unless you choose a full rights transfer)
  • Usually this is about the correct wording, not an extra charge

The key thing is transparency: tell us your plan up front so your licence matches it.

Full rights transfer (ownership)

If you want full ownership (for example, no credit required and full commercial control), we can arrange a full rights transfer.

  • Full rights transfer from £1,000+
  • Pricing depends on scope, deliverables, and intended usage
  • Confirmed in a separate written agreement

Tell us your plan

When you order, a short note is enough. Examples:

  • “This is for my partner, shared with family only.”
  • “This is for a YouTube channel that is monetised.”
  • “This is for an advert / brand campaign.”
